PERFORMANCE TRAINING
Athlete Development Beyond the Diamond

At the North Texas Longhorns, our commitment to athlete development extends far beyond the baseball field. We emphasize not only the execution of fundamental baseball skills but also the integral role of performance training in our athletes' overall success. Our program places a strong emphasis on what athletes accomplish in our state-of-the-art weight room, recognizing the direct impact it has on their on-field performance.

Embracing Versatility
We strongly advocate and encourage our athletes to participate in multiple sports throughout the year. Our coaching team firmly believes that a diverse sporting experience contributes significantly to an athlete's overall growth, skill set, and mental toughness.

Off-Season Program Structure
For our athletes aged 13U and older, our current off-season program spans three days a week, operating from August through January. This regimen is designed to optimize their physical and mental conditioning, preparing them for peak performance when it counts the most.

For our athletes aged 12 and under, our program operates from December through November, conducting sessions twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This dedicated regimen aims to maximize their development in several key areas:

By concentrating on fundamental skills and providing an engaging environment, we aim to instill a strong foundation in our younger athletes while nurturing their enthusiasm for physical activity and skill development.

In-Season Excellence
Our in-season program takes place from February to August, providing a structured platform for athletes to refine their skills and maximize their on-field performance. This regimen allows them to translate their enhanced capabilities into game-time success.

Performance Training Focus
Our training regimen centers on various crucial elements:

Strength: Building a foundation of physical strength
Power: Enhancing explosive athletic power
Speed: Developing agility and swiftness on the field
Agility: Improving overall dexterity and quickness
Injury Prevention: Mitigating risks and maintaining athlete well-being
